감사의 글
안녕하세요? 칼폴라니사회경제연구소 소장 정태인입니다.
칼폴라니 
국제학회가 끝난 지도 벌써 보름이 지났습니다. 벌써 인사들 드렸어야 했는데 이러저러한 정리를 하다 보니 인사가 늦었습니다. 감사합니다. 여러분 모두의 도움 덕에 꽤 괜찮은 학회를 치른 듯합니다. 저희는 조금 더 젊은 학회, 조금 더 현실적인 학회, 아시아인과 시민들이 참여하는 학회를 열려고 했고 어느 정도는 목표를 이루었습니다.
참여하신 여러분께 다시 한번 감사를 드립니다.
한 가지 더 말씀드리고 싶은 것은 폴라니의 마지막 일이었던 “공존”(Coexistence: A Review of East-West and Development Issues)을 재창간하면 어떨까 하는 겁니다. 캐리 폴라니레빗 교수한테 말씀드린 바 있습니다만, “아시아의 젊은 너희들이 해야지”는 말을 들었습니다^^ 물론 저희의 힘만으로 할 수 있는 일이 아닙니다. 폴라니의 “거대한 전환”이 지금 필요하다고 생각하는 모든 분들이 힘을 합쳐야 이룰 수 있는 일이겠죠. 이번에 참여했던 모든 분들께 어떤 주제로, 어떤 방식으로 이 아까운 잡지를 다시 낼 수 있을지, 의견을 묻고 싶습니다.
제안은 한국의 폴라니연구소가 했지만 아무래도 의견을 주고받는 곳은 캐나다의 칼폴라니정치연구소가 낫겠습니다. 우리 모두의 토론을 원합니다.

Thank You Letter to All Participants
It has been almost three weeks since the 14th International Karl Polanyi Conference ended. On behalf of the conference committee, I would like to express my appreciation to all participants at the Conference. Thanks to your help, we could end the conference successfully. We tried to make the conference younger, more realistic, and in which Asians and citizens could participate. To some extent, we achieved our goal.
I would like to thank you once again for participation.
There is one thing that I would like to suggest. It is to re-launch Co-existence (a review of East-West and Development Issues) which was Karl Polanyi’s last work. I once asked Professor Kari Polanyi Levitt about this and she told me, “You, young people in Asia should do this!”J Of course, it can’t be done on our own. I believe that this can be done by those who think we need Karl Polanyi’s ‘Great Transformation’ now. I would like to ask all those who participated in the conference for opinions about how we can re-launch this magazine.
Even though this idea came from Karl Polanyi Institute Asia, it would be better to communicate with Karl Polanyi Institute of Political Economy in Canada to start this conversation.
We want ideas from all of you.
